Presentations in Nepal

On August 3, Jan Hooimeijer, MSc, will travel to Nepal to give presentations at the International Veterinary Students Association (IVSA) international congress in Kathmandu on August 6 and 9, at the invitation of the International Veterinary Students Asso

The topics are responding to (our) behavior, intelligence and cognition in parrots/animals and children, and preventing and addressing welfare issues, behavioral issues, and health issues.

It is wonderful to connect with veterinary students from all over the world in this way.

Over the years, there has been a rapidly growing interest among veterinary students in the prevention of welfare issues, behavioral issues, and health problems. Additionally, there is a great need to learn how to interact with parrots/animals in a parrot-/animal-friendly manner. The 5-step behavior protocol makes it possible to create mutual respect and mutual trust.

Prevention and behavior are increasingly being embraced as the core business of the field, which is why Jan has already been invited by IVSA representatives from India and Hong Kong to give presentations on this subject in 2027 as well.
